WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

Elim Sr.High is for students for grades 9-12. We exist to help students with practical examples of how to live like Jesus along with helping them understand WHY Jesus is the most important choice in their lives above everything else they will choose.

THIS YEARS THEME & DIRECTION

IG POST.jpg

The goal this year is to equip our students in what they actually believe in discussing WHY they believe in Jesus and if there’s some who don’t or are on edge, helping them walk through some of those doubts. The reality is 25% of Gen Z students are attending church regularly. What are we doing with the 75%? This is our answer to that. So this year we’ll go going through some key sermon series that discuss tough questions from is the bible legitimate or just a fairy tale to discussions like homosexuality. We’re not trying to create division or narrow-minded thinkers but it’s to help students understand despite their ideas and beliefs now, we’re all on a journey to be more like Jesus. The point is to create loving Christ-like students who know and understand what they believe in versus just coming to church because it’s a routine.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

THE 4 ELEMENTS

LOGOS-04.png

THE HAMMER

Building a foundation in what you choose to believe in, what you study, etc. If there is no foundation, there will be no way to stand up against opposition or when life gets tough.

LOGOS-05.png

THE KEY

Unlocking the mindset. This is about making sense of what you study. Nothing is better than when you have those "aha" moments and come to realize the new things you have learned as you continue to grow.

LOGOS-06.png

THE ARROW

They say if you don't stand for anything, you'll fall for everything. The arrow helps us to aim where our landing points are and what we need to target. This helps us narrow down those core beliefs.

LOGOS-07.png

THE SWORD

There is no point in being equipped if it's not being used for anything. The sword is about executing the mission. The missing is to reach people and make an impact.

CURRENT SERIES

ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

This semester we’re tackling a series that touches base on a number of sensitive topics. We can imagine being a teenager today is difficult. There are so many different voices, opinions, and influences. We’ve seen both the positive and negative side of giving into those influences and as a result, some students come out a better person and others come out confused, misled and hurt later on in life.

Over the next few months, we’re tackling conversations that are tough. The conversations that stand out yet nobody wants to talk about it, thus the “elephant in the room” idea.  We’ll talk about homosexuality, abortion, racism and more. The point of this serious is NOT to create division. But to open up to the students what God tells us about these topics and how we can properly approach them along with how we can learn to love others who may identify being a part of some of these conversations on a personal level.

We want to promote a healthy basis so students in 2021 won’t feel like an “outsider” when it comes to dealing with what others in our world go through every day. The end goal is to teach students that everyone is on a journey to be more like Jesus. Come as you are.

Every Thursday we hang out with students at a given Starbucks location where we walk through the bible project video series, ask questions and teach students how to dive deeper into the bible. Afterward there students can take time to hang out and or do homework. The window is from 3 - 7PM. This means they can come anytime between these times or even stay later on if they want. There is no "set time" but this is the time Pastor Mike or a leader will be there with students.

JORDANS CONTEST

JORDANS PRIZE- STORY.jpg

This year we're doing something new. From Sept 2020 - Sept 2021 we're providing a one year bible reading plan provided by the Bible Project. If students follow the given plan in the workbook and provide monthly submissions on completing the reading, they will have their name thrown into a draw to win a free pair of Jordans or equal value. Each month completed equals their name in the draw each time.

Click on the links below to get the workbook and a quick video tutorial on how to navigate through the workbook.
